Our decanter, also known as settler, is a device specifically design to remove impurities and all micro pollution from stormwater run-off.
Sotanks® offers a large range of decanters, made of GRP, steel or polyethylene. These devices are designed for parking slots, highways, petrol stations and all kind of industrial or manufacturing sites. Our settlers are supplied with a filtering system, optimizing the elimination of microparticles within the rain water.

How it works ?

Separation of solids
The decanter allows water to flow through a settling chamber or tank, where heavier particles (such as sludge, debris, or oil) settle at the bottom due to gravity.

Removal of pollution
The cleaned water remains at the top of the device, while suspended solids and all contaminants settle at the bottom. This process helps in reducing the pollution levels of the stormwater being discharged.

Storage or further treatment
As a further step, the decanter process can store the cleaned water temporarily or send it for further treatment, such as filtration, before releasing it into the environment or using it for irrigation or other non-potable applications.
